Our mission at the Responsible Innovation Lab is to bring together a new interdisciplinary community of researchers and practitioners passionate about creating ‘responsible’ solutions as they innovate in response to emerging challenges and explore new opportunities. We are based at the National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS), Australian National University
We are a diverse team of researchers and practitioners dedicated to responsible innovation. With expertise in science and technology studies, science communication, engineering, computer science, and system science, we are committed to ensure the emerging technologies are designed and developed responsibly, creating solutions that are not only groundbreaking but also considerate of their impact on society and the environment.
Our research is structured in a series of projects and research themes. These projects are the root structure of the Lab’s community, reaching out to brilliant students, researchers and practitioners and connecting them and their ideas to the challenges of making responsible innovation. The themes ranges from responsible bio-innovation to responsible planning and responsible AI.
We design and run ‘rHackethon‘, to encourage more people incorporating ‘responsible thinking and practice’ as they imagine and innovate new design for challenging problems.
