PhD position 

We invite applications for a fully funded PhD position to investigate the intersection of responsible innovation and systems thinking/system dynamics, with a particular focus on agriculture and global food security. This project aims to develop new frameworks through which systems thinking theories, tools, and techniques can be adopted to capture the dynamics of agricultural systems, directing innovation towards more responsible practices and opening up ‘innovation ecosystem’ for sustainability transformations.

The candidate will have a background in Agriculture, Systems Science, Science Communication, STS, or a related area and preferably research experience in systems thinking and responsible innovation.

1 Faculty position (Lecturer , Level B)

The successful candidate has a passion for teaching and researching socio-technical systems, responsible innovation, and socio-ethical considerations in technology.

The candidate will have a PhD in Science Communication, Engineering in Society, Technology studies, Information Systems or a related area and teaching/research experience in areas such as systems science and responsible innovation.

3 Faculty positions

The National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS) is seeking applicants for three different positions: 

    • A Research Fellow/Lecturer will play a role in the evolution of the Centre’s research, teaching and outreach activities. They are expected to collaborate with other researchers at CPAS and with colleagues at a national and/or international level. They will create a strong culture for interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary teaching, research and engagement.     • Two continuing academic faculty members at Academic Levels B, C, or D (equivalent to Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Associate Professor). Candidates whose research and teaching is focussed on one or more area of science communication – e.g., responsible innovation, science and public policy, and the science/society relationship will be considered on their merits, with the primary criteria for selection being academic excellence. 2 Research Assistant Positions

There are at least two casual research assistant positions available at RI-Lab.

The successful candidates need a background in science and technology studies (STS) or a related discipline.

The working hours will be flexible based on the candidate’s availability (7-15 hours per week).

5 Casual Sessional Academic Positions 

There are at least five casual sessional academic positions available at ANU.

The successful candidates need wide range of technical skills and experience, particularly in systems thinking, and science and technology studies (STS) or a related discipline. If you have the ability to engage, educate and enjoy working as part of a team, we would like to hear from you.
