[ Negar Yazdi ]

Negar Yazdi is trained as an Urban Planner with the majority of her training, research, and work experience in Child-Friendly Cities.

She has publications in this field, including a book which is titled “A grounded analysis on children’s cognitive development in urban settlements” (in Persian). This book was published by the government as one of the only publications in this field in Iran. This is about what children perceive, conceive and understand from their environment as they grow and how the concept of a human settlement or a community is matured and shaped during different stages of their development. This could be done through grounded analysis of what children describe as urban, rural, communal, or environmental issues in their drawings and writings.

In this area, She has been involved in drafting national guidelines and policy reports for government ministries and the Tehran City Council.

she has been working for different consultant companies as well as city councils. Most importantly, she was leading a big project Mashhad City Council for developing the city’s Urban Observatory. In this project, she collects, monitor, and analyze the data produced in the city. Another project that she founded in 2020, and she is still leading is The City Dialogue, which promotes dialogue between and among different actors and stakeholders in the city (the content is in Persian). The last special issue was about COVID-19 and urban inequalities.
